New York, New york was recorded by Frank Sinatra in 1979, but was released on his album in 1980. Would it be considered an 80s or 70s song?

Well, it was written in the 70's, but published in the 80's........that is kinda difficult.

In the album maker's eyes, it's an 80's song, but the song writer would probably call it a 70's song.....I say 70's.

But I just asked this question to my step-dad and he told me it'd be an 80's.

Hope I helped out somewhat. =/

Well the song was made in the 70's! So it's a 70's song. XD

If an artist paints a picture in the 1800's, and somebody JUST now finds the picture and puts it in a museum, that wont make it a 2008 peice.

People usualy round up, because even though right now we are in the year 2000 some people are calling it the 21st century.
So it's an early 80s song.

By 1979 the music fad had pretty much shifted to the 80's we know, so technically it's an 80s song.

*holds up an 80's sign* It's when its released not when its recorded...I think.
