My old tablet has carked it (for over a half a year now) and I've been offered one for christmas, of my choice. So, I could do with some help in finding which is the more trusted brands.
My last was a Wacom Graphire 2, I adored it. D:

I've seen Bamboo out, are they any good?

WACOMZ, DEFFINATLY. Nothing else works as awesomely.
I actually don't find the size matters too much... I has a graphire4 4x6 and I've used to the huge 12" one and it didn't make much of a difference. But the 12" is just too bulky. (Unless you like uber-bulk) It's just personal preference after that.

The Bamboo is supposed to be for tablet "starters". They're all tablets, I suppose, but the graphire has better sensitivity.

I have a 4x6 Bamboo fun Wacom, its been working real nice for me and I've had it for almost a year now. It is real fun to use, the places I know that would carry them is Circuit City and Best Buy, I bought mine at Best Buy for $100 so I think you may want to get this one, or possibly even newer, whatever suits you.

I'm a Dragon, your a Dragon. They're a Dragon, all of you are Dragons!
Rawr! Hiss! Growl!

Does my breath smell of rotting corpses? C'mon, take a wiff. I won't eat you, I promise. Well...maybe a lick on your face wouldn't hurt. I want a small taste.

I hear Bamboos are great starters.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.

I've been using my previous tablet for a good 2-3 years. So I'd probably want something similar.

Wacom. There is nothing better :3
I hear Bamboo is great if you're going for casual drawing and inexpensive. I personally have an Intros3 that I've been loving for about 2 years or so. And if you're looking at Graphire.. I guess it's like an intros with wireless (which of course is less reliable then). Also I find the 9x6 is better than the 4x6 since it's, well bigger, closer to a normal paper size and easier to work with in being precise.

Wacom Intuos 3 6x9. What Tusami said.

you're not exactly giving us a lot of options... tablets come in dozens of sizes.
I personally have a small bamboo fun by Wacom. Wacom makes the absolute best tablets.

Got confused since you said 'my brand is' so I figured you meant what tablets we have XD
I've tried the medium size and don't feel too much a difference. the tablet has a resolution of about 500 ppi or so, so even small tablets work plenty well on even huge screens.
